I work in many different art and craft mediums: screenprinting, found media collage, altered books, digital design, photography, fiber and textile, bookbinding and metalwork, among others. (I like to say that I don’t have a body of work as much as I have a basement of work.) But despite the variations in medium, technique or form, the resulting works often reveal a shared insight into my nerdy fascination with science and pseudo-sciences, geography, social studies, and systems and how they function: diagrams, technical drawings, charts and graphs, instructions and explanations. I am constantly accumulating new source materials — everything from clothing pattern books to outmoded etiquette manuals to instruction guides for obsolete technology to travel souvenirs. I love to take things apart and reconstitute them in a new context, creating works rich in humor and metaphor.

My own particular brand of “art for nerds” has been featured in over three dozen venues including the Minneapolis Central Library, University of Minnesota Larson Art Gallery, Walker Art Center's "MN Made," Minnesota Center for Book Arts, Rochester Art Center, Plains Art Center and the Twin Cities Pride Festival.
